Dec. 24th, 2006 @ 10:18 am Santa is coming
Whoopee, the Dunder Mifflin shirts I ordered for my husband and sons from Shirtheadz.com arrived yesterday. I got my Sunnydale T-shirt from this vendor. Everything is wrapped and ready to go under the tree. I'm looking forward to a week off to bum around with friends and get ready for our New Years party. We alternate with friends and this year it's my turn to host it. Hope everybody has a wonderful holiday and a happy, healthy New Year...Hopefully in 2007 we in the US will begin to get our country back.

Dec. 6th, 2006 @ 10:02 pm More on James
...Did I mention in my previous post that he looked great, with the straight, honey colored hair and this great black leather distressed jacket-He looked like a New Yorker, I almost walked right by him. Good handshake too-firm but not painful...I like that.

Dec. 6th, 2006 @ 09:52 pm James Sighting!!!
You are probably thinking that I've dropped off the face of the earth because I haven't updated my LJ since FOREVER but I absolutely must now because I ran into JAMES MARSTERS on the streets on New York. I was walking up Broadway toward Lincoln Center (on my way to the Barnes and Noble there) to kill an hour before a dance class and who should I see walking down the street but himself. We chatted, I asked him if I could take a cell phone picture of us, he agreed, I fucked around on my stupid cell phone (it's new) and I couldn't take the fuckin picture. He was really gracious but eventually I couldn't keep him any longer. We chatted about why he was in NY, shooting a movie, PS I Love You, Circle in the Square, Julliard, small talk, he was absolutely lovely and a sweetheart, just like everybody says. He told me I looked familiar and hadn't we met before...(no James, I think I would have remembered that).LOL I am sooooo freakin happy :-D

Aug. 30th, 2006 @ 08:20 am Project Runway clothes up close and personal
Was hurrying past Macy's yesterday in the rain and was stopped in my tracks by the display of Project Runway winners in the window. Vincent's dress was highlighted and the other winners were on a rack. I was floored by how good the garments looked and how polished, (Michael's skirt made from recycled packing material had great little fringe).
All the clothes looked extrememly polished and well made with a lot of detail. Uli's jacket was beautifully tailored. These clothes look kind of thrown together and unfinished on TV but really are couture. I'm not sure if they have had more time to work on them after the shows are finished but it would be amazing to see some of the designers work with really great fabrics.

You Are 4% Sociopath

You're empathetic, loyal, and introspective.

In other words, there's no way you're a sociopath... but you can spot one pretty easily!

Lucky me, I spent the day taking comps for my Masters in School Administration. Five hours of writing in little blue books about No Child Left Behind and Fiscal Equity in Education among other fascinating topics. I will soon have 2 advanced degrees in Education. Funny, I can't remember wanting even one.

I haven't updated for eva because RL has been busy. I have a new job for the Dept.of Ed.as a mentor for new teachers...guess where...Rikers Island. If you don't know, that's the prison where all NYC's criminals find themselves. I work with new teachers who work with incarcerated youth. It's...pretty...amazing. I'm still processing it all.

On a lighter note...I love The Office. Thank god somebody had the good sense to believe in it and to move it to Thursdays so it's not opposite House.

Another blessing is Seasonal Spuffy and all the goodies therein.
Hugs to herself_nyc on her book!

Jan. 28th, 2006 @ 11:18 am Consumate LJ lurker posts BtVS fic nearly three years after the fact
Current Mood: geeky
I, who rarely post an entry or write a fic, have decided to kill two birds by posting this link to my one and only attempt at writing BtVS fanfic.
This fic is completely unbetaed and has, I'm sure many first timer flaws. But I'm posting it anyway, cause what the hell, I wrote it in 2003 and only three people have read it. It's short, so not a lot of your life will be wasted by reading it. I hope you enjoy it, please let me know. It's Spuffy season 7, pre Sleepers Sunnydale. I wrote it on a whim 'cuz wisteria said she was bored....

Jan. 28th, 2006 @ 09:01 am what's new avec moi
Work is really kicking my butt, and coincidently, my son is going through a parallel experience at his job.
I mention this because we were born on the same day, thirty years apart. Astrology anyone?
The good news is that it looks like I will be going to London in April. Hurray! My husband and I will be staying with my nephew and his family. My sister, once she heard I was thinking about going, offered us her frequent flyer miles! This will give us the freedom for a side trip to Paris. Anybody know of a good place to stay in Paris?
In the meantime I'll be watching that rascal House.
